MKB Partner Art Kidman to Address City Attorney Association on Water Law

Art Kidman will address the monthly luncheon meeting of the City Attorneys Association of Los Angeles County on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at the Tam O’Shanter Restaurant at 2980 Los Feliz Boulevard in Los Angeles. In a presentation entitled “Water Law Granola for City Attorneys” Mr. Kidman will discuss “crunchy” water topics of interest to Southern California cities, such as:

  • Creating drought awareness to sell water projects and bonds
  • The regulatory drought created by the Endangered Species Act
  • Why violation of Proposition 218 may be the real reason for the rash of water main breaks in Los Angeles
  • Environmental damage caused by impounding and diverting water for use in distant places
  • The new water quotas being forced on cities by the state
  • Why one of the four horsemen of the water apocalypse has pulled up lame
